Introducing World Mode: step into a world
Say one sentence and walk into a world: a drawn cast that remembers you, places painted as you arrive, and worlds you can publish for anyone to enter.

Pominis began as a studio for authored stories: you shape the scenes and choices, and readers play them. World Mode adds the other half. Instead of choosing from written options, you are inside the world and can say or do anything; the world answers in words and pictures.
What's new
- One sentence to a world. Describe a world and who you are in it, and in about 30 seconds the story, cast and opening scene are ready.
- A cast drawn first. Characters' portraits appear while the world is built, and every scene uses them as references, so faces stay the same.
- Places drawn as you go. Go somewhere no picture shows and it is painted when you arrive, not before.
- A world that remembers. Relationships, promises, things you carry and your goals are kept from turn to turn.
- A note when you are away. Leave for a day and a character may write to you about where things stand.
- Worlds you can publish. Share your world by link or to the community; everyone who opens it walks straight in.
Any story can be a world
World Mode is not only for new worlds. Many published stories offer it: step in with their characters and pictures and go wherever you like. And any world you make can be written into a full story in the Studio, with a first chapter drawn from its cast and places.
How it plays
Here is a world made from one sentence, “I'm the new mail carrier in a small seaside town where every letter is addressed to someone who's gone”: Marla at the depot tells you to read the name, leave the letter and never knock twice; Nell warns you that Nettle Row floods at high tide; up at the old lighthouse, Hollis Vane says he knew Toby Renn, drowned the year the herring went, and asks who is writing to him now. Each place appeared the moment the story reached it.
